How long ago were the wins? Summer training might effect rankings too. If Steven deserves to be ranked higher, the truth will become self evident. Until then he can use it as fuel to fire him up. Cheif bigsky is right. Ratings are cool but really don't mean anything. I don't believe they even count for seeding criteria. Tell Steven good luck and go get 'em.

According to NEUSAW rankings he's been rated #2 since Dec. 1st. Three different rankings, it's all in fun.

Ratings are not fun or easy to do, at least for me. I know since I sent mine in for class C I've found some mistakes like a class D kid I rated in C because they were C last year. Or worse yet, a kid that I'm sure will be a state medalist, I forgot about and didn't even put in the rankings this time, but will next. Tough to sort through limited results, and limited info. from coaches and do ratings all while coaching your own team and teaching, lol! Ratings are an opinion, not fact.

it is a kick to a kid that has been in the rankings all of his high school years also a 3 time qualifier at state and a 1 time medal winner and a starting record of 10 and 1 his only defeat is to a kid at 132 the first week out

Might be a kick to the kid, but put yourself in the raters shoes. Pretty hard to remember and know all the kids in the state as well as coach your own team at the same time. Then, when coaches don't send the pre-season info. into the raters, kids get missed. Remember, the only ranking that matters is the one when they're on the podium.
